Khawaja Asif Slams PTI, Warns of State Measures Ahead of Protests

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif condemned the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) call for protests, asserting that it exemplifies state enmity. Drawing comparisons to previous disruptions caused by the party, he recalled how PTI had interrupted national events, notably during Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to Pakistan.

Asif referenced the late Dr. Israr Ahmed and Hakeem Saeed’s predictions regarding PTI’s purported anti-Islamic stance. He expressed alarm over the party’s slogan, “No Khan, No Pakistan,” emphasizing that it reflects a dangerous mentality that prioritizes the party leader’s power over the welfare of the nation.

Asif further criticized the provincial government for allegedly using state machinery against the federal administration and accused PTI of failing to condemn acts of terrorism, which he believes revives the violent spirit witnessed during the May 9 incidents. He voiced concerns that PTI is intent on obstructing the country’s progress and criticized the judiciary for providing undue relief to the party’s leadership.

Turning to economic matters, Asif claimed that inflation is declining, commending Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s performance across various sectors. He concluded with a stark warning that the government would employ all necessary measures to maintain order and prevent any disruptions during the anticipated protests on October 15.
