Due to a recent decline in global oil prices, Pakistan is expected to see a reduction in petroleum product prices starting from October 1. According to industry sources, petrol prices could decrease by up to 1 rupee per liter, while high-speed diesel prices may drop by 3 rupees per liter.

The official announcement of the price cuts is anticipated on September 30, with Finance Minister leading the discussions and finalizing details after consultations with Prime Minister. This price reduction follows a similar cut on September 15 when the government reduced the prices of petroleum products significantly.

Currently, petrol is priced at 249.10 rupees per liter, while high-speed diesel stands at 249.69 rupees per liter. Light diesel is priced at 141.93 rupees per liter, and kerosene at 158.47 rupees per liter. With the upcoming reduction, the public and businesses alike can expect some relief from the rising cost of living.
