4 Injured as Mortar Shell Hits House in Bajaur, One Critically Wounded

Panic gripped the residents of Mamond tehsil in Bajaur district on Thursday evening when a mortar shell struck a residential home in the Gohati area.

The mortar reportedly hit the house of Saif-ul-Malook, injuring four individuals, identified as:

• Gul Wali, son of Saaz Malook (in critical condition)
• Gulab Gul, son of Saaz Malook
• Suleman, son of Gul Khan
• Syeda Jan, son of Muhammad Haleem
  (All are residents of Gohati, Mamond)

The injured were immediately rushed to Category-D Hospital Larkhalozo Mamond, where Gul Wali’s condition remains critical, according to hospital sources.

While the origin of the mortar fire remains unclear, the incident has raised serious concerns among the local population. Security agencies have launched an inquiry, and fear continues to loom over the area. Local elders and civil society have urged the government to ensure peace and prevent such attacks in the future.
