14 Laborers Abducted by Gunmen in Musakhel District, Balochistan
In a tragic incident, 14 laborers were abducted by unidentified gunmen in the Musakhel district of Balochistan. The attackers stormed a private company’s camp situated along the national highway, opening fire and setting heavy machinery on fire. After the assault, the gunmen took the workers hostage and fled the scene.
Local authorities, including Levies forces and district administration teams, have been dispatched to the affected area, specifically Tehsil Durg, to launch an investigation and attempt a rescue operation.
This latest act of violence comes just a day after armed individuals killed several people in the Khuda Abadan area of Panjgur, Quetta. Balochistan has witnessed an increase in violent incidents this year, including a massacre in August where 23 passengers were forcibly removed from trucks and buses in Musakhel before being shot dead.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has condemned the incident and directed law enforcement agencies to take swift action against the perpetrators. He reiterated the government’s resolve to eliminate terrorism and ensure the safety of workers. President Asif Ali Zardari also expressed sorrow and called for strict action against those responsible.
