In a startling revelation, Azad Kashmir’s Interior Minister Waqar Noor and Inspector General Rana Abdul Jabbar exposed a major terror plot aimed at disrupting the peace of the region. The plot was uncovered following the October 27, 2024, martyrdom of Constable Sajjad Resham at the Shujaabad checkpoint.

Investigations led to the identification and arrest of several suspects, including Saqib Ghani, caught at Azad Pattan with a cache of heavy weapons. The suspects, part of an organized network, were involved in multiple attacks across Azad Kashmir and Islamabad, including a foiled attempt to burn down the City Bagh police station.

Confessions and recovered arms—including grenades and pistols—have linked the group to foreign agencies, with one fugitive, Ghazi Shehzad, confirmed to have ties with hostile entities in Afghanistan. Another key name, Abdul Rauf, is accused of manipulating youth in the name of jihad. Intelligence points toward Indian involvement in harboring and funding these disruptive groups. Authorities have vowed strict legal action, urging the public to remain vigilant and united for the region’s stability.
