India and Afghanistan Are Both Involved in Terrorism in Pakistan: PM Shehbaz Sharif

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has alleged that India is involved in terrorist activities targeting Pakistan, while stating that Afghanistan's interim government has failed to prevent its territory from being used by militant groups.

Addressing participants of the Balochistan National Workshop, the Prime Minister said that terrorism had largely been eliminated from Pakistan by 2018, but later resurfaced due to what he described as an organized conspiracy. He noted that more than 90,000 Pakistanis have lost their lives in the country's fight against terrorism, adding that the recent killing of a sessions judge in Mastung highlights the continuing security challenges.

The Prime Minister urged Afghanistan's interim government to ensure that its territory is not used by terrorist groups. He expressed concern that the Afghan authorities have not been successful in preventing such activities.

Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan's diplomatic efforts for regional peace are being recognized internationally. He also commended Field Marshal Asim Munir and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar for their diplomatic contributions.

Highlighting Balochistan's importance, the Prime Minister said it is Pakistan's largest province by area and the smallest by population. He stated that the people of Balochistan have always played a significant role in the creation of Pakistan and the strengthening of the federation, adding that their sacrifices will never be forgotten.

He also announced that work is underway on the dual carriageway connecting Karachi to Chaman. Referring to the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award, the Prime Minister said Punjab and the other provinces had extended strong support to Balochistan and reaffirmed the government's commitment to ensuring all provinces receive their constitutional share.

Responding to questions from workshop participants, Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that Pakistan's progress depends on the collective efforts of all four provinces and said the country is now ready to move towards a new phase of development.
