China has voiced serious concern following Israel’s military strikes on Iranian territory, warning that further escalation could endanger peace and stability across the Middle East.

In a statement released Saturday, the Chinese Foreign Ministry called the Israeli airstrikes a “serious act of aggression” and stressed that “aggression serves no one’s interest.” The ministry said China is closely monitoring the situation and urged all sides to “act with calm and restraint.”

The statement also underscored China’s commitment to diplomacy, reaffirming its stance against military solutions. “Dialogue and diplomacy must prevail,” the spokesperson said. “China stands ready to play a constructive role in reducing tensions and promoting peace.”

The remarks came amid growing global concerns after Israel launched widespread airstrikes that reportedly killed top Iranian military officials and two nuclear scientists. Iran retaliated by launching drone strikes at Israel, most of which were reportedly intercepted.

As a permanent member of the UN Security Council and a major Middle Eastern peace broker, China emphasized its commitment to regional sovereignty, international law, and multilateral diplomacy.

Beijing also reminded the world of its success in mediating the 2023 Iran-Saudi Arabia rapprochement and called on influential nations to support peaceful resolutions over armed conflict.
