The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) ended its six-session winning streak on Tuesday, with the KSE-100 Index falling by 1,199 points to close at 186,255.
During the trading session, the benchmark index fluctuated within a range of nearly 2,000 points, touching an intraday low of 186,189.
A total of 980 million shares were traded, with the value of transactions reaching Rs. 45 billion. Meanwhile, the market capitalization declined by Rs. 129 billion, bringing the total market value down to Rs. 20.856 trillion.
Market analysts said the decline was largely driven by profit-taking after several consecutive sessions of gains, leading to a broad-based pullback in the market.
