Senior Pakistani showbiz actress Bushra Ansari has expressed her views on the increasing incidents of violence against women, stating that the parents of the girl are responsible for such violence. In a video message released on her YouTube channel, Ansari addressed the alarming rise in domestic violence cases in Pakistan, highlighted recently by the viral photos of news anchor Ayesha Jahanzeb’s domestic abuse.

Bushra Ansari condemned all forms of physical and mental abuse against women, urging them to learn skills that enable them to be self-reliant. “Women should stand on their own feet and not rely on anyone during difficult times,” she emphasized.

Referring to the abuse suffered by Ayesha Jahanzeb and the tragic murder of Punjab’s Sania Zehra, Ansari stressed that women should immediately separate from abusive husbands to save their lives. She criticized parents who remain silent despite knowing their daughters are being mistreated, stating that this silence only emboldens the abusers.

“Parents are responsible for their daughters’ oppression,” Ansari said, “because, despite being aware of their daughters’ suffering, they leave them at the mercy of abusers instead of bringing them home.”
